Who’s up for a steamy office romance with a Canadian Prime Minister?

Authors Ainsley Booth and Sadie Haller presented a sexier office story than 50 Shades of Grey. It’s true, what can I say (no offense to E.L. James). If 50 Shades left you sour, Prime Minister will sweeten things up.

The Story

Our young protagonist Ellie is a college student who has landed a prestigious internship working at the Prime Minister’s headquarters. Ellie helps the PM with speeches and other office duties. They’re no easy tasks. Often, Ellie receives text messages beckoning her to come to the office no matter how early she must wake up.

While Ellie is trying to balance school, her internship, and yoga classes, she must deal with her growing feelings for the PM, Gavin Strong. She has no idea Gavin has the same feelings for her as well.

Gavin likes to keep things professional. After all, he is the leader of Canada. His top priority is to keep things in line, in and out of the office.

However, his life changes when the intern Ellie steps into his office. Gavin likes to be in control. Unfortunately, he can’t seem to harness his intense (and often naughty) feelings for Ellie, especially when she calls him “Sir.” It’s not helping his situation at all!

The longer Ellie and Gavin work together, the more their relationship develops (and their kinky sides come out).

My Thoughts on Prime Minister

What I like about the Prime Minister is the consent. We have Gavin and Ellie, two responsible adults. Ellie wasn’t wholly naïve in her case with Gavin. Gavin didn’t approach Ellie like a domineering creep (like a certain someone from a certain novel).

Plus, the suspense in this book kept me locked to the pages. Gavin and Ellie are in an entirely taboo relationship. Does anybody remember the whole Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky fiasco?

You’re reading this book at the edge of your seat wondering when Gavin and Ellie were going to get caught. How will Canada respond to their relationship? What will happen to Ellie’s internship status?

Prime Minister is over 300 pages. There are moments in this book that will make you gasp for more reasons than one.

Lastly, I like how this story is set in Canada. I haven’t read many romances set in the Great White North. Typically, you’ll find office romances set in New York City, Chicago, or Los Angeles. If you’re looking for a new romance setting, Prime Minister is one of them.
